FBI Federal History Records (IdentoGO Fingerprinting) for Prospective Employees

Act 114 of 2006, Section 111 of the Pennsylvania Public School Code outlines background check requirements for student teachers and the employees of public and private schools and their contractors.

The Act requires that:

  • all student teachers (participating in classroom teaching, internships, clinical or field experience);
  • prospective employees (including, but not limited to: administrators, teachers, substitutes, janitors, cafeteria workers and office employees);
  • of public and private schools, Intermediate Units and area vocational-technical schools, including independent contractors and their employees and bus drivers; and/or
  • who have direct contact with children

must provide to their employer a copy of their Federal History Record that cannot be more than five (5) years old.

To Obtain Your Federal Criminal History Record:

The applicant must register prior to going to the fingerprint site. Walk-in service without prior registration will not be provided at any fingerprinting location. Registration is completed online. Registration is available online 24 hours/day, seven days per week at https://www.identogo.com/locations/pennsylvania. The service code to use is 1KG6XN.

The applicant must provide a qualified State or Federal photo ID at the time of fingerprinting. A list of fingerprint locations near you may be found on the IdentoGO website. During the state transition, North Penn School District is not able to assist in providing fingerprinting services through the Human Resources Department. We are currently investigating the opportunity to continue to provide the service to our employees and volunteers.
