Pennfield Reminder

*Bus Passes-No bus passes will be issued district-wide for the 2023-2024 school year.

*Change of Address-If the home address, home/cell phone number or guardianship of your child changes, please contact the Guidance Secretary, Mrs. Linsen at [email protected] or call 215-853-1890.

*ID Cards-ID Cards are available from Security in the Office for $5.00.

*Lunch Accounts-Remember to put money into your child's lunch account. Registration is easy just visit www.schoolcafe.com and follow the on-screen instructions to create an account. Families can add each student by entering each child's Student ID number. There is no cost to create an account, to receive notifications when an account balance is low, to view a student's account balance 24/7 or to monitor student purchases. However, SchoolCafe does charge 5% convenience fee each time a deposit is made and the minimum payment amount is $20.00. There is also a toll free number (1-855-729-2328) that families can call to make payments and check their student's account if they do not have access to the Internet. The same transaction fee is charged for payments made over the phone and online. It is important to remember that there is NO CHARGE for NPSD families who use SchoolCafe but who send cash or checks to the school cafeteria for deposit. There is only a charge for online payments. If sending cash or checks, it is important to provide the student ID number and checks should be made payable to NPSNS.

*Student Absences-All absences should be made by a phone call, email or fax; followed by an excuse note upon their return to school. If your student arrives late, they must present an excuse for tardiness at the attendance office. If a phone call, email or fax is not received by the attendance office, the absence will be marked unexcused.

North Penn School District utilizes SafeArrival for Attendance:

With SafeArrival, you can report your child out the day of a sick absence. Plus, if you know your child will be out of school ahead of time, you can preschedule the absence using any of these three convenient methods:

  1. Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links at https://go.schoolmessenger.com). The first time you use the app, select Sign Up to create your account using an email address we have on file for you. Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
  2. Use the SafeArrival website, https://go.schoolmessenger.com. The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account. Once again, please remember to create your account using an email address we have on file for you. Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
  3. Call the toll-free number (888) 239-8495 to report an absence using the automated phone system.

These options are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Future absences can be reported at any time. Day of absences, for instance for illness, should be reported as early in the morning as possible the day of the absence. You can of course still call or email your student' s school to report an absence.

For more information about SafeArrival, please read the document linked here.

If you are unable to utilize SafeArrival, please call Mrs. McGlinn at 215-853-1881 or email [email protected]

Due to recent changes in federal regulations, it is imperative that we receive a phone call, note, or e-mail for this absence. To prevent further action, please contact your attendance office as students with 3 unexcused absences will be scheduled for an attendance improvement conference with school officials and students with 6 unexcused absences will be classified as habitually truant.

Email: [email protected]

Fax: 215-368-9791

Call: 215-853-1881 or 215-368-9600, press #1 for attendance

*Student Appointments-If your child needs to leave early for an appointment, please send them into the office with a note, they will be given a pass to meet you in the office at that time. For any other questions or information about picking up your student during the school day, please call 215-853-1881 or email Mrs. McGlinn at [email protected].

*Student Illness/Nurse-Students are not permitted to use cell phones during the school day and should not be using cell phones to call home when they are ill. Students need to visit the nurse and the nurse will determine if the parent should be called to come and get the student. Please remind your students regarding this rule.

*Vacations-If going on vacation during the school year, please make sure to notify the attendance office. You will need to send a note at least one (1) week in advance to Mrs. McGlinn. If your absence will exceed ten (10) school days, you will need to notify the registrar office, Deb Bozzo, at the ESC to make an appointment to re-register your student(s) before returning to school.

*Visitors-All visitors to Pennfield are required to show their NPSD staff ID or driver's license at the reception desk in the Main Office. If you are coming for an IEP, team or teacher meeting, you must sign in at the Main Office.
