Students will be required to wear masks during school hours and on busses, unless a child is exempt. Please note that face shields will not be permitted per the policy being considered by the school board which can be found here

As students begin a return to in-person instruction, families are reminded to reference the NPSD 2020-2021 District Calendar approved in late August which differs from the printed calendar received by families this summer.  Beginning, Friday, November 6, all schools will have a two-hour early dismissal on Fridays to give additional prep time to teachers.

To help families transition to hybrid learning we have created calendars indicating which hybrid cohort attends school in person on which days. As a reminder, to view assignments log onto the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. For specific instructions once logged into Infinite Campus, click here. While in the parent portal you will also find bus information under the left navigation menu of More/Transportation.

If you have any trouble with logging in to the parent portal, please email us at npfamilytech@npenn.org

Please continue to refer to the Reopening Resources and contact your building principal with any additional questions.

Bell Schedule:

Students will begin full days of school on September 2nd. Virtual Bell Schedule. All students must be aware of the start time for each of their classes.

Technology support

We have heard many families are experiencing difficulty logging onto their Chromebook or gmail. In speaking with North Penn technology they suggest students double check their login credentials and passwords. If you have already done this and still have issues please email npfamilytech@npenn.org

Information about Chromebooks and Technology are linked here
2020-2021 Digital Learning

As a reminder, if you need to swap the device for a repair, you will need to have paid the $20 accidental damage protection. Payments can be made online, through the mail print form, or at the distribution site. Please print and fill out this form to bring with you.  Fees not paid by September 30, 2020, will result in a fee increase to $30 per child, and the family fee increases to $120. If you have a financial concern, please fill out the waiver application form.

North Penn has switched over to a new Learning Management System named Canvas.  Students will access their online classrooms through Canvas.  An email was sent by the district yesterday inviting parents and students to online training modules to learn how to use Canvas.  I have linked the training modules here, Parent and Student Canvas Training

Distance Learning Expectations

We are asking families to work with students and remind them of virtual classroom etiquette.  Please discuss the following:

-When entering a virtual space, please mute your microphone and only turn it on when you need to speak.

-Please be sure that students are appropriately dressed.  We are trying to use virtual spaces to recreate a classroom environment as best as possible.  Virtual spaces will be recorded. Please be sure that students are adhering to the district dress code when participating in virtual instructional spaces. Students will still be held to the district student code of conduct.

-Headphones are your friends! Headphones can block out background noise, such as sibling's,parents, the dog, etc. If you need to speak during your class session and are using headphones make sure they have a microphone, otherwise you’ll need to use your computer audio.
You might be virtual, but you’re still in school!

Please wait to be called on so you aren't talking over a classmate.

Silence all notifications, the beeping and buzzing from your devices can distract your classmates

No side comments or sidebar conversations. Class Time should be used for relevant thoughts and questions.

Just like in the classroom, if you wouldn't do it in front of your principal, parents, or grandparents, don't do it in front of your peers online!
