North Penn Reads!

Wise minds throughout history have turned to books during tumultuous times. You should too.

Acquiring books during this time can seem difficult since libraries and bookstores are closed. You may not have any books where you live or have any that interest you. However, you can still access many books for free online by utilizing what’s known as the public domain.

Essentially, books in the public domain are not subject to copyright laws. This means you can legally download these books onto your ChromeBook or personal devices and read while maintaining social distancing. To learn more about copyright laws and what books you can access for free, see these resources: Stanford University Libraries , New York Public Library

While it's not required, why not use this time to find a new favorite book?

The Pennfield Library website gives you access to OverDrive where you can download books!

Head over to the Hathi Trust Digital Library or to ProjectGutenberg to browse and download books.

Reading makes immigrants of us all. It takes us away from home, but more important, it finds homes for us everywhere. - Jean Rhys
